Grey Day in Hamstead Heath

2014

Background

Double-Sided Memory Quilt.

Three layers were stitched together, and the back (with two yellow figures) was painted.

Based on a meeting with a former work colleague in Hampstead Heath when both families were experiencing family health issues.

We spent several hours walking and talking together in a very atmospheric location, just being there for each other.

Details

145cm x 103cm

Gabardine whole cloth, pencil sketched and painted with acrylic paints, light grey synthetic material on the front of the quilt to enhance foggy appearance, batting, and crochet cotton blanket stitch binding.
